Nature and Purpose:

Introduction and History

The Secretariat for Evangelization and Discipleship exists to provide direct support to the parishes and the people they serve within the Archdiocese of Boston. Under its umbrella is the Multicultural Ministry, which is dedicated to serving communities of diverse cultures. One of its missions is to reach out to immigrants within the Archdiocese, helping them organize as distinct ethnic communities and share the richness of their cultures with the wider Christian community of Boston. Each ethnic community is entrusted to a Pastoral Agent, Chaplain, or Coordinator appointed to provide spiritual leadership and pastoral care.

The Filipino Apostolate of the Archdiocese of Boston (FAAB), established in 1988, operates under the structure and guidance of the Multicultural Ministry. Accordingly, all programs and activities of the FAAB shall align with and support the mission of the Secretariat for Evangelization and Discipleship..

Mission and Vision

The Filipino Apostolate is a community of faith within the Archdiocese of Boston, committed to living out the Gospel in the spirit of unity, service, and love.

We seek to provide an environment that fosters the full integration of the Filipino faithful into the local Church and society, while preserving and celebrating the richness of our cultural heritage.

As a Christian community, we guide (GUMAGABAY), care for (KUMAKALINGA), and nurture (UMAARUGA) our youth and fellow Filipinos through pastoral care, faith formation, and acts of service.

We strive to share and develop our spiritual and material gifts not only for the benefit of our members but also in service to the larger Church and wider community.

Fr. Rosanno P. Soriano, MS

Chaplain

Fr. Rosanno P. Soriano, MS is the Superior of the La Salette Community at the National Shrine of Our Lady La Salette in Attleboro, Massachusetts . He is a member of the Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette, a religious congregation founded in 1852 in France, dedicated to serving the poor, preaching the Gospel, practicing reconciliation, and celebrating the Eucharist

Fr. Rodel S. Cervantes, A.A.

Assistant Chaplain

Fr. Rodel S. Cervantes, A.A., is a Filipino-born priest of the Augustinians of the Assumption, served as Provincial Treasurer at the Assumptionist Center in Brighton, MA, and is now assigned to St. Anne Parish in Sturbridge, MA and active in liturgical and community ministry.
